This is a review of the Eternal Youth Exfoliating Scrub from Valentia.

First impressions were of the look and feel- it looks like rice pudding or tapioca pudding. Very different from what I’m used to. It’s like a springy gel but very soft, enough so to spread evenly and easily and smear onto a facial cleansing brush or cloth.

So as soon as I started applying it, I wasn’t a big fan of the scent. It has what I’d call a very multi-faceted aroma, at some points I could smell a tea-like after smell that was nice but overall the prevailing smell was initially vaguely medicinal in nature. But this is made up for quite a bit by the claims of this one not having artificial ingredients- I’d rather do without the stuff that makes other scrubs smell so good if they’re using artificial fragrances to get that way.

The main job of this scrub is to cleanse and soften without over drying, and hopefully showing long-term added benefits due to the blend of vitamins and aloe vera. It’s working quite well as advertised so far, my skin feels tighter but cleaner afterward and the aloe vera keeps up on moisture without leaving residue. I do think it could stand to be more moisturizing though, I have combination skin and the rather dry areas are still an issue. Since this is an exfoliator, I opt to use it with gentle and very softened sponges.

The container is large, the contents aren’t 100% full, the scrub is like a big round handful in the center of the jar. It does appear to be at least the four ounces stated though and should last at least a month. I am using it sparingly and the scent and effects on my skin after direct use are very noticeable.

So far I’m happy with this product and each of the times I’ve used it have been pleasant, no bad after effects even though I have sensitive skin.
